25,000 Words

Hey everyone,

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. So here we go with 25 pictures. Luckily, I have not written 25,000 words. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.

One of the parade participants at the annual bun festival on Cheung Chau Island a week ago.

Another parade participant. One of several dragons.

And this is the bun tower at the bun festival. At midnight, contestants climb up this tower to pull the buns off and put them in a bag on their waist. The higher up one goes, the buns are worth more points. Google "bun festival hong kong" -- there are some great videos of this crazy, very unusual contest.

And these are the buns. Delicious! And available all over the island.

I even worked my way into one of the bakeries down a side alley for this picture.,

A couple of the chinese girls in our office wanted to take us out for some french toast, Hong Kong style. Yes, that is a giant slab of butter on the top with a bottle of syrup by my hand.

Back to the bun festival -- this is a continuous potato chip. Very good!

The parade went back and forth down these narrow little alleys -- very, very, crowded.

More buns for sale.

Polly's daughter came to visit us at work. I won her over with my hand massager.

Lunch on Birthday friday with the senior couples. These ladies always wear the same dress on Birthday Fridays (which occur once a month)

I gave mom this orchid for Mother's Day. I included Lyra in the picture because she kept reminding me about mothers day and even gave me the link to order flowers for your mom.

Mom and I took Sister Johnson to lunch at the local mexican restaurant.

Mom in front of a real estate ad in TST.

Mom and I took a tour of the harbor last week on this boat. Very relaxing. and beautiful.

The cool thing about this orchid plant is that it had several unopened buds. We took pictures of this bud opening over the span of one day. Beautiful.

Mom went to lunch the other day with some of the people she works with in the building. Here she has just discovered that the food she's trying to chew is some raw jellyfish. Yum!!

We visited a very old Hakka village yesterday.

This is Umar, my fixer in Pakistan.

Mom with several of the people she works with from Cambodia, Thailand, India, and Indonesia. We had the privilege of doing a temple session with them.

This my little girlfriend at church. She usually sits right behind us. Our relationship is very hot and cold. Some Sundays she ignores me and refuses to even look at me. And other days  she is as friendly and fun as can be. Today was a good day. Well it is late and we need to get to bed. We love all of you so much. Mom and Dad
