Miscellany

 Dear Everyone,

Happy sabbath! Not a lot of crazy things this week. So I'm just going to go through some miscellaneous events and pictures.

I won these at a local amusement park for your mother/grandma.They have now taken up permanent residence on our bed. I thought it was time for you to meet them.

Finally! The Thurstons made it to HK. We became fast friends with these two when they served with us in Cambodia. They are the finest of people. So glad to finally have them join us.

We took the Thurstons out for dinner last night. We then went down the street to get some "bubble waffles". This is a little buddhist temple next to the waffle shop.

Here we are waiting for the waffles.

And here, Elder Thurston is enjoying his choco waffle.

Mom got to play the organ this week. Just for fun. She was the only person in the chapel (which is located a few floors below ours). She looooooooved it!

This is what you mom/grandma does everyday -- she helps send recently returned missionaries back to the temple. This is another thing she loves doing.

All of us in the white shirts are the attorneys currently working here. Elder Hansen (middle next to me) and his wife leave next week. They are on their way to serve at the open-house of the Bangkok Temple for the next three weeks. He is thrilled -- he served there as a young missionary so many years ago. Polly and Jennifer, in front, are our two legal coordinators (paralegals). They are both exceptional human beings. I really look forward to your meeting them.

This is a picture of Will, our translator at church. He is also my ministering companion. He will only be here two more weeks before he returns to BYUI. He is another exceptional person -- so committed and kind.

On or way home we had to make our way through this bedlam. Some kind of a reality TV performance by a bunch of young chinese women. We never fully understood what was going on.

Finally, Cindy made us dinner tonight. It was us, Smiths and Thurstons. Here she is with her new room mate, Jane, who just arrived here from mainland China. The building management didn't tell Cindy she was getting a new roommate and Jane just showed up out of no-where about 5 minutes before we got there. But she is friendly and fun and by the time we all left she said she was going to come to church with Cindy next week.  She starts a new job tomorrow morning as a CPA at an international accounting firm.

And here we have your mom enjoying some noodles. Yum, Yum.

Well, that's it for tonight. Time is flying by. Less than a year left. We miss you all so much. We spend far too much time looking and relooking at pictures of all the fun things you are doing. You are very much in our prayers.

Love you,
Mom and Dad
