Two Big Weeks

Image
Hello all! It has been two very busy weeks since we last wrote. Lots has happened, so here we go. This is a picture of Sandy, Mom's translator at church. She is leaving on her mission to serve in NYC in  March, but she faithfully sits behind us and spoon-feeds us sacrament meeting. A couple of weeks ago we were invited to attend a dinner with what we thought was just several members of our ward. We said yes but right up to the day of the dinner we were still wondering if we should go (we had another activity planned with senior couples that same evening). There were approximately twenty of the ward members at this dinner. And it wasn't until we got there that we learned the dinner was a combination birthday party for one of the men, and also a surprise dinner being given in our honor -- to thank us for the work we h...

"The dream that I haven't even thought of!"

Dear Family, You know how sometimes you just need to be reminded that Heavenly Father is aware of you? You're going along in life and it's fine, but heaven just feels a little quiet? It seems everyone takes the week before and after Christmas off around here -- except for us of course. So we go into the office every day but we have found it more difficult to get things done because the people we work with here and in other countries are a lot more difficult to get in touch with. And both Steve and Greg (my bosses) are gone so things have slowed down a bit for the first time since we got here. We do have a couple of activities that occurred this last week; so here we go. The biggest day of the week was Thursday when we went to the temple to do baptisms. We did this in honor or Liz who did baptisms in her temple for the first time this week. Me doing what I tend to do a lot of -- talking to different attorneys all over Asia. I've spent a lot of time these last two weeks working on some difficult issues in India. Here I'm working with an attorney in Hanoi, ...
